Privacy policy
The short version
- We collect no personal data through this website. It has no forms, accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- The Fate Dept uploader is a private tool. Only Fate Dept. uses it, to upload our own videos to our own YouTube channel.
- The uploader’s sign-in token stays on the Fate Dept. owner’s computer. We run no server or database for it.
- We do not sell, share or advertise with any data from Google.
Who we are
Fate Dept. runs this website, fatedept.com, and the @thefatedept accounts on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Fate Dept.

Visitors to this website
We collect no personal data through this website. It has no sign-up, contact form, comments, analytics, advertising or social media embeds. Its fonts and images are served from fatedept.com, so your browser contacts only our host, Cloudflare, when you read it.
Cloudflare processes technical data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This data includes your IP address, browser type and the page you requested. We do not use it to identify or track visitors. Cloudflare’s handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
If you email us, we keep your address and message only to reply. We delete them once the matter is closed.
Cookies
We set no cookies. Cloudflare can set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a request comes from a person and not a bot. That cookie is not used for advertising or analytics.
The Fate Dept uploader
The Fate Dept uploader is a command-line tool that runs on the Fate Dept. owner’s computer. It uploads Fate Dept. videos to the Fate Dept. YouTube channel. It is not offered to the public. We use it only with the Google account for the Fate Dept. channel. Before each upload, it checks that it is connected to @thefatedept, and stops if it is not.
YouTube API Services
The uploader uses YouTube API Services. By using it, we agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What it accesses
The uploader asks Google for two permissions. It uses each one only for the purpose below.
| Permission | What the uploader does with it |
|---|---|
Manage your YouTube videosyoutube.upload |
Uploads a video file that the owner chooses. Sets its title, description, tags, category, language, privacy status, scheduled publish time, made-for-kids setting, altered or synthetic content declaration and thumbnail. Uploads are private unless the owner chooses otherwise. |
View your YouTube accountyoutube.readonly |
Requests the channel’s basic details and status. Uses only its ID, name, handle and long-upload status. Before each upload, it checks that the channel is @thefatedept. |
The uploader does not read comments, subscribers, analytics, messages or other people’s channels.
What it stores
The uploader stores one item of Google user data: the OAuth token that Google issues when the owner signs in. The token is a file on the owner’s computer, in a folder kept apart from the project files. This token is the only user information the uploader stores on any device. The uploader sets no cookies.
The token is never sent to Fate Dept. servers, because there are none. It goes only to Google, to authorise each request. The uploader does not save channel details. It shows them on screen and then discards them. Video files and their titles and descriptions stay on the owner’s computer and go directly to YouTube.
How it uses Google data
Fate Dept.’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We use Google data only to upload Fate Dept. videos and confirm the channel.
- We do not sell it, share it with anyone other than Google, or use it for advertising.
- We do not use it to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
How to remove access and delete data
Removing access and deleting stored data are two separate steps.
- Remove access: the account owner can revoke the uploader’s access at any time on the Google security settings page. If the channel uses a Brand Account, switch to that account first, then open the same page. After access is revoked, the stored token stops working.
- Delete stored data: deleting the token file removes everything the uploader stores. We delete it within 30 days after access is revoked, and when we stop using the uploader.
Videos that are already uploaded stay on YouTube under the YouTube Terms of Service until they are deleted in YouTube Studio.
Children
This website and the uploader are not directed at children.
